North Shore Chicago Area Bank Aids in Refinancing Local Aquatic Training Center

Updated: Jun 1, 2023

Adam Cremieux has always had a passion for swimming and has accomplished a lot in his career, such as setting school records, being the first sophomore to be voted captain in the history of University of Northern Iowa swimming, and becoming the head swim coach at WEST Swim Club. But perhaps one of his biggest accomplishments is becoming the first swim coach in Illinois history to build and own his own aquatic training center. Superior Training was built in 2015 and has been dedicated to training elite athletes ever since.

Over the years, Cremieux was met with several challenges from his previous bank regarding funding, so he began looking for other options. Jim McMahon, CEO of Centrust Bank, is a frequent customer of Superior Training and reached out to Cremieux to help.

“Five years ago, we opened an aquatic fitness facility in Willowbrook, IL. In the beginning we had one speed bump after another, and once we started getting our feet underneath us, Covid-19 hit, and we were completely shut down for two months. Jim McMahon was one of our loyal customers here at Superior Training and reached out asking if he could help,” said Cremieux.

While working with Cremieux, Centrust Bank ensured that he was aware of all options to meet the financial needs of Superior Training. Cremieux was also able to take advantage of the SBA CARES Act, meaning the SBA will pay six months of principal, interest, and any associated fees that borrowers owe. The partnership between a small business and the lender is more important now than ever, and Centrust Bank was committed to giving Cremieux all the right tools to ensure the success of Superior Training.

“I explained to Jim the trouble we were having reaching the state to explain how important it was for us to be able to open up at least a little and how safe it was to exercise here at Superior Training. We also explained to him how our old bank had lied to us about having an SBA loan and in return we lost all government funding through the SBA. Jim reached out to his lobbyist in Springfield and within a week we were able to open back up. At this point, he had already started working on refinancing our loan in order to be able to take advantage of government relief funding. We are eternally grateful to our friends and family at Centrust Bank,” Cremieux said.
