In 2005, a group of bankers and local community leaders decided to organize a bank with the focused vision to deliver exceptional service to business and personal banking customers. The bank would employ experienced and dedicated people and make the extra effort to know its customers and their needs. In addition, the organizers of the bank decided to offer local individuals an opportunity to invest in the bank through a private offering of stock. The offering was closed on February 28, 2006 with over $20 million in subscriptions received.
The vision became a reality when CenTrust Bank opened for business on April 14, 2006 and immediately began servicing the needs of the local community out of their temporary quarters at 400 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, Illinois. The Bank opened with a staff of seven people and immediately began taking in deposits and making loans. In the summer of 2008, the Bank moved to its permanent location at 385 Waukegan Road, Northbrook, Illinois.
